Project description

The long-term goal of this study is to implement an agriculture, forestry, and fishing injury surveillance system for the Northeast, improving upon the current system’s attributes, while enhancing the dissemination and utility of injury statistics to relevant stakeholders. This system will identify root causes of traumatic injuries, track those trends over time, identify high-risk groups, and allow for ongoing programmatic and research evaluation. Data from the iPHD program allow us to identify such trends in New Jersey, and work collaboratively with the New Jersey Occupational Health Surveillance Program to enhance health and safety in these industries within the state.
